Run for the kids
5k/10k
We are super thrilled to announce the final results of the 6th annual Run for the Kids 5k/10k race, held on September, 23rd - together, we raised $21,700!
It would not have been possible without 223 amazing runners, our team of dedicated volunteers, and our generous sponsors and supporters who were part of the event. We would like to give a special shoutout to our local sponsors - Loui Loui, Kudo Society, Kuppi Coffee, and Peck Peck Korean Fried Chicken. We are extremely grateful for your support and teamwork! Thank you!
For 6 straight years now, the Run for the Kids race has raised funds to bring education to underdeveloped or underprivileged communities locally and around the world. 100% of the proceeds this year will be going to Grace School in Tanzania, Mango House in Thailand and Grace-in-Motion’s Summer Camp in Teaneck, NJ.

We sincerely thank you again for making the amazing day possible and we hope to see all of you again next year.

Places we support with the run
Grace School, Tanzania
Our long-standing partnership with Grace School has yielded two elementary schools in Tanzania, now accommodating more than 100 children in each building. Grace Elementary School has become a beacon of hope, not only for the children, but for the parents and for the community, which is amongst one of the most underprivileged in the world.
Our goals are for Grace School to become a sustainable and fully functioning school accommodating grades nursery through twelve, continue to provide the community with the invaluable education it clearly desires, continue building a rapport with the people of Tanzania, and show love and respect to the people not only through our donations, but through our acts of service.
Mango House, Thailand
The staff at Mango House in Thailand has come to a conclusion over the years. There is no other way to propel a third world country out of poverty except through good education and as a result, we've sent teams to Mango House to continue their great work in the area.
Situated in rural Chiang Mai, good education is very scarce, but also crucial for the children of this community to succeed at the next level. Mango House seeks to be the agent of change, promoting the escape from the cycle of poverty that plagues the people in this community. To combat this, our partners at Mango House have developed an orphanage/school to educate and mobilize orphans to the best schools possible in the area. Their goal is to rescue children at the youngest age possible as the risks of becoming victims of sex-trafficking increase exponentially by the age of twelve.
Currently, Mango House is seeking aid in breaking new ground with a boy's dormitory. The facility has already maxed out for housing of girls, so expanding space requirements is a top priority to rescue more children in the area. The estimated cost of the building would total $200,000, allowing the newly renovated Mango House to house up to fifty or more children.
Teaneck Summer Camp, New Jersey
We here at Grace-in-Motion believe that global change starts with local impact. Becoming a light where you are with what you have.
To align with one of our key tenets, Grace-in-Motion is currently in discussion with partners in the area to coordinate a summer camp for families, particularly those coming from a low-income background, in the town of Teaneck, New Jersey for the summer of 2018. For one week, we'll be working with local and internal professionals to provide a fun and inclusive environment for kids to learn and play, while also providing an outlet for Grace-in-Motion to start a transparent dialogue with the local community to discover their most urgent needs. We will be providing food, supplies, and activities for those that attend, and most importantly of all, this will all be free -- fully funded by proceeds from 2017 fundraisers.
